I am thoroughly enjoying my three day weekend, and I hope you all are too. We’ve done a bit of yard work, a bit of barbecuing, and a bit of relaxing, a perfect Memorial Day weekend.
I can’t make it through this weekend, however, without stopping to remember why we have this holiday.
I believe that I live in the most amazing country in the world, and there are many people who work hard to make America the country that it is. Among the bravest of those are the soldiers who are fighting and who have fought for this country for hundreds of years.
It’s easy for me to forget that there are men and women risking their lives every day to fight for the freedoms that I so often take for granted. Even leading up to this weekend, I was merely excited for an extra day off from work. Today, I want to take a bit of time to remember our fellow citizens who have fought and died for us.
If you have a second while you are reading this, even if it’s no longer Memorial Day, take a moment to pray for the soldiers and families of the soldiers who have so humbly served our country.
